The Club
The Minnkota Cruising Club was founded in 1976 by three couples, from Minnesota
and South Dakota and decided they'd make their contribution to
boating history by forming very informal, "no frills" cruising club.
The common interest is boating and the excitement and social
interaction it offers.
General Meetings
The Minnkota Cruising Club holds a general dinner meeting monthly at a
south end restaurant (Southcenter, Des Moines or Federal Way) on the
third Wednesday of each month, except July, August and December (time
for cruising and celebrating!!). Please call to confirm location.
Meetings begin with a social hour at 5:30 pm and are followed by a
dinner at 6:30 pm.
At these meetings we discuss club business, boating safety, legislation
updates and social events of interest to the membership.
Membership
The club roster is made up of individuals and couples with a broad
variety of boating experiences that have accumulated over the years.
Our membership spans the gamut from those who are retired, seasoned
boaters to those who are just starting out.
Membership in MCC is FUN!!
As a member you will find friendship, traveling companions for boating
in local and untraveled waters and a sense
of satisfaction by participating in club cruises and the many
activities.
Boating
Cruising is the major activity of our club. Our fleet of boats includes
both power and sail ranging in length from 26 to 46 feet.
Our cruising destinations are scheduled each month to different areas
of Puget Sound.
Cruise activities are group oriented and often include games (i.e.
Bocce Ball, Horseshoes, Cribbage, etc).
Potlucks also play an important role at our cruises that promote good
fellowship.
You'll always find a helping hand whether dealing with boat problems or
navigational challenges.
We cruise together and are active in the boating community, belonging to several boating organizations (Northwest Boating Council, Recreational Boating Association of Washington and affiliations with other yacht clubs). And, we do our share to keep Puget Sound clean and environmentally healthy.
Requirements
Membership in Minnkota Cruising Club is open to adults 21 years of age
or older who own a boat and want to cruise with other boaters who enjoy
doing the same.
